Hello awesome dance families.
We want to be sure you are all prepared for your dance classes and knew exactly what you needed wear. Often when a dancer puts on a costume for the first time, their dance really comes alive. It helps them transform into the character they are meant to be and can take their performance to a new level. In the same way, dressing appropriately for class helps our dancers to focus and give their classwork the respect and effort it deserves.
Dancers succeed by being dressed appropriately for dance class every week. Be sure to have all the appropriate shoes and attire the BEFORE your class. We WILL NOT have time to do it the same day as your class so please schedule an appointment @ 818 426-4784.
If you have any questions about what is required for your specific class please shoot us an email?

Things to think about when buying ballet shoes! You might have to sew your own elastic straps to the shoes and that’s totally normal. There is lots of YouTube tutorials.
Color: Buy ones that are close to your skin tone. Light skin tones or someone who has pink undertones or pink/white tights should buy pink ballet shoes. Warmer tones or someone who wears tan tights should buy tan ballet shoes. Men can wear tan, white or black ballet shoes
Full Sole: There is a thin leather pad sewn to the back of the ballet shoes, known as the sole. For full-sole shoes, this sole stretches from the toe to the heel, providing extra stability. This is best for young children and beginners who have little to no experience in ballet who needs to focus on building foot strength. (I would recommend a full sole level 1)
Split-Sole: As one gains more experience, that is when split-sole shoes come in. The sole is split into two portions. This type of shoes gives more emphasis to the point of the foot. (I would recommend a spilt sole for level 2)
Leather vs canvas:
Leather: Harder material, improves/helps with foot strength, more durable, higher price Canvas: Machine washable, easy to form to foot, less durable, lower price
Recomendations: Level 1 Leather full sole Level 2 Canvas split sole. Below are some shoes that I have used and love but you don’t have to buy these exact ones.
BLOCH Womens "Performa" Stretch Canvas Ballet Shoes Recommended for Level 2
Capezio Adult "Hanami" Canvas Split Sole Ballet Slipper Recommended For Level 2
Bloch Child "Bunny Hop" Leather Full Sole Ballet Shoes Recommended For Level 1
